The Byrum Family
The Jimmy & Lizzie Family
This family generated from James Ruffus Byrum,
better known by all of us as Jimmy.
And his loving wife of forty years,
Ira Elizabeth Dail, known to us as Lizzie.
On January 7th, 1912, they became husband & wife,
when the weather was bitter cold.
That honeymoon night, they cuddled & slept,
with the house door OPEN, so I've been told.
Thru this union, came a very large family.
The first child was a precious baby girl,
who lived on this earth only eleven days.
Then God took her home, from this world.
Then came their sons, EIGHT, did you know?
James, Jesse, Moral, & Rubie, right in a row.
Wayland, Hubert, Preston & King George, the baby boy.
A houseful of boys. Oh, what a great joy.
Boys here, Boys there, & Boys everywhere,
Jumping, frolicking and playing here & there.
Some did dishes, made beds and ironed clothes,
While others worked in the field, all down the rows.
One by one they grew, and left their original nest.
Started their own families; Now listen to the rest.
Look carefully around, & analize everyone.
Cause, believe it or not, that's where you came from.
Thru the years, the Byrum Clan has grown,
And today, spread out, and are many known.
For our many deeds, and our many faces,
Where we set up our homes, in different places.
Jimmy & Lizzie did a wonderful job,
Setting up the right path for us to trod.
Their creed was to love God, Family & Friend
And be true to these three, till the very end.
Lets remember our heritage & proudly say,
That we are from the Byrum Clan, on this special day.
If we focus our lives on God, Family & Friend
We have chosen the right path, when we get to our end.
